In this talk we will discuss challenges and opportunities that lie on the path towards building state of the art LLMs. We will walk the path of a researcher, from initial success of Llama 1 - a research only LLM, to Llama 3.1 - a collection of models and open AI ecosystem, broadly adopted by the community.

We will discuss the unique value Llama models bring, what challenges are ahead and how everyone can help.
